DID YOU KNOW
That Crop Circles are a deep mystery that has baffled scientists for decades.
But we are beginning to learn some amazing things about them. If you have been following the subject at all, you know that there is an ongoing and spirited debate about whether all crop circles are made by ordinary people or if some portion of them have a more mysterious, possibly extraterrestrial origin. You may have heard about Doug and Dave, two guys in England who in 1991 claimed to have been making crop circles for 13 years using only boards, rope and a sighting device. Even though their story was proved to be a hoax, it's amazing how many people still believe that Doug and Dave or other people have created all of the crop circles.
This belief began to change as researchers and scientists such as Dr. William C. Levengood began to study the stalks of the plants that were flattened by some unknown process. Specific nodes of these plants seemed to have been exploded by some kind of electromagnetic or microwave energy exposure.
The concept that some crop circles were "genuine" and not man-made was strengthened by the scientific results that were showing up in many researchers work. The stalks in the genuine crop circles were bent over due to the energy effects on the nodes, but they weren't broken as was the case when crushed by boards in the man-made circles. The stalks also continued to grow. The effects on seeds and germination varied depending on the type of plant and the stage of growth when the crop circle occurred. When crop circles occur in mature plants the seeds often showed an extreme increase in growth rate and vigor and an increased tolerance to lack of water.
Over the last 30 years or so, crop circles have displayed more intricate and beautiful designs. They include complex geometric designs such as sacred geometry, fractals, the golden mean, and the Mandelbrot set. Many people are suggesting that some intelligence somewhere is trying to tell us something. Who or what could that intelligence be?
This video is a great introduction to crop circles and all of their many aspects.
